How it works
- 1) Get your marriage license:in Bexar County or any Texas county; it's valid here. A marriage license from ANY Texas county (including Bexar County) is valid for a ceremony anywhere in Texas. Texas has a 72-hour waiting period after the license is issued before the ceremony, unless an exception or waiver applies (e.g. active-duty military, judge's waiver); the license is valid for 90 days. Couples can get their license in San Antonio and marry in Austin, or get it in Travis or Hays County on the trip up (after the waiting period).
